Dr. Monica Wehby leading Oregonians to a better Healthcare future
Dr. Monica Wehby is among the leading Neurosurgery Specialist in the United States. She has dedicated most of her life working for the people of Oregon. Monica has managed to grab a fair share of the people's love, respect, and affection during all these years. First, as a doctor, saving countless children's lives and then entering politics to reform the healthcare landscape in the state.
It is hard to tell the incredible story of Dr. Monica Wehby that stretches beyond decades. Moreover, her list of achievements runs more prolonged than we can comprehend.
A doctor who saved hundreds of lives
Dr. Monica Wehby has spent most of her life working as a pediatric neurosurgeon to save countless innocent lives. She gave a new lease of life to children suffering from high-risk or acute brain conditions. Her sacrifices and sheer dedication to bringing change in general people's lives is something to look up to. And the people made sure they thanked Monica for her commitment. Dr. Monica has repeatedly won honors and awards for her selfless work.
Dr. Monica is a member of The American College of Surgeons, The American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Due to her part in significant healthcare institutions, Dr. Monica understands her duties to better the healthcare state in Oregon. She has always voiced her thoughts for affordable healthcare for all.
Not so long ago, she received the Congressional Medal of Distinction for her contribution and work to improve children's health. Monica was also bestowed with America's Most Compassionate Doctor Award to acknowledge her lifetime of work to uplift healthcare. She was the first woman to enroll and graduate from UCLA's neurosurgery program in 1998. Monica even entered the board of trustees of the American Medical Association. She later resigned from this post to work as a full-time pediatric neurosurgeon at Randall Children's Hospital, Oregon.
Dr. Monica got her fellowship in 1997 in pediatric neurosurgery from the University of Utah School of Medicine. She even pursued BS in Microbiology and BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame.
A politician working hard to bring a change
Dr. Monica gained a lot of insight into the healthcare system prevalent in the country. She soon realized that she has to turn to politics if she was to bring a more significant change. So, in 2014, Monica became a Republican candidate in the United States Senate for Oregon.
Dr. Monica Wehby has used both of her platforms as a doctor and a politician to reform the healthcare system. There is an urgent need to prioritize the doctor-patient relationship ahead of anything else during policymaking. Dr. Monica knows this, which is why she is always fighting for the patients' rights.
