Monica Wehby

Dr. Monica Wehby is a popular pediatric neurosurgeon in the United States. She is a physician, a politician and a single mother of four. She was the first woman to enroll and graduate from UCLA's neurosurgery program. With her strong background in healthy politics, she has performed various leadership roles. Monica has a powerful personality. She has also served as the president of the Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland and Oregon Medical Association. With her strong experience in politics and as a neurosurgeon, she has brought accountability and trust back to the U.S. Senate.  

Her Early Life 
Monica Wehby was born on 7th of May,1962 in Nashville, Tennessee. Born and brought up in a well-to-do family, her mother was a registered nurse, and her father worked as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1979, Monica completed her secondary education from Father Ryan High School. She has completed her B.S. in Microbiology and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. To pursue her education, she took admission to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  

Her Career 
She is currently the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Randall Children's Hospital in Portland. For improving the health of children, she was also awarded as the Congressional Medal of Distinction. Monica was seen in nationwide T.V. advertisement talking about the issues with Obamacare, also known as Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Aside from excelling in academics, she has also served as Student Body President and Head of the Medical Student Group of the Texas Medical Association.  

In 1995, Monica completed her neurosurgery residency at UCLA Medical School. Afterwards, she got a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1997. A year later, Monica moved to Portland and joined a post as the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. 
 
Monica Wehby became the board of directors of the American Medical Association in 2011.  

On May 20th, 2014, Monica won the primary election of the Republican nomination. She defeated Jo Rae Perkins, Jason Conger, Timothy Crawley, and Mark Allen Callahan. In the same year, Monica also participated in the U.S Senate Oregon General election. Unfortunately, she was unable to make it in the election against Jeff Merkley.  

Presently, Monica Wehby works as the head of pediatric neurosurgeon at the Randall Children's Hospital. She is determined and confident woman who excels at every role she handles
