Monica Wehby is one of Castle Connolly’s 1st edition, top regional doctor.
Dr. Monica Wehby is an active Republican and a distinguished neurosurgery specialist from Portland, Oregon. She has worked hard for most of her life to uplift the community using her medical practice and political ground. It is the benefit of two separate worlds that Dr. Monica has used to show people the current healthcare situation in Oregon and upgrade it.
And her devotion hasn’t gone to waste as she was bestowed with Castle Connolly’s top regional doctor, 1st edition. It is yet another feather to her cap with several achievements and awards already to her credit.
Putting her medical degree to good use
Dr. Monica has been practicing neurosurgery for a very long time. It was during this time that she realized that the current healthcare system requires a major revamp and changes. She observed how vital medical aids and procedures simply fell out of the doctor’s and the patient’s reach. And the reasons behind the dilapidated condition of the healthcare system in the state are current bureaucratic decrees and the backdrop leading to the making of these decrees.
Monica used her political stage to call out all the leaders in the state and the country to practice decision-making that values the doctor-patient relationship. She believed these measures were the only ways to improve the regional healthcare system.
Monica even tried to show the American people how the Affordable Care Act is flawed. As a Republican candidate during the US Senate election in 2014, Monica expressed her views about how the ACA is snatching hundreds of families without healthcare cover.
Returning to her community.
Dr. Monica is an expert in multi-tasking several positions since she is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, The American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and The American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery, and a certified member of The American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Monica received the Congressional Medal of Distinction for her dedicated work to improve children’s health. She also got America’s Most Compassionate Doctor Award as an appreciation from her patient for her faithful service. Monica finished her BA in Psychology and BS i Microbiology from the University of Notre Dame. She was the first woman in 1995 to join and accomplish her graduation from UCLA’s neurosurgery program. Following that in 1997, she completed her fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery from the University of Utah School of Medicine.
Castle Connolly’s top regional doctor, 1st edition
Dr. Monica Wehby was recently declared as one of America’s Most Honored Doctors. The laurel was soon followed by another one: Castle Connolly’s top region doctor, 1st edition. All these laurels are proof of Dr. Monica Wehby’s astounding work and devotion and how much people value her as a doctor and a politician.
